FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
The NBREA Pre-licensing course is offered in a self-directed, online format, allowing you to study at your own pace. Your enrollment remains active for one full year from your registration confirmation date, giving you ample time to complete the curriculum and prepare for the exam.
The Introduction to a Career in Real Estate Course is a mandatory online prerequisite course taken through NBCC Saint John and costs $200 + HST.
The Salesperson Pre-Licensing Education (PLE) Course is the primary self-study course that prepares you for the exam. The cost for this course is $3,000 + HST and includes your study materials.
Once licensed, you will have recurring costs to maintain your active status, including but not limited to:
a Criminal Record Check (cost may vary).
Complete FCNB's Salesperson License Application. Cost: $150 and is good for 2 years.
NBREA's Application Fee: Cost $75 + HST.
Annual & Professional Fees that are paid to the association to remain a member in good standing. Cost is approximately $616.40 + HST (could vary annually).
Professional Liability Insurance (Errors and Omissions) - Cost is approximately $626.65 + HST (could vary annually).
Brokerage & Board Dues: Monthly or annual fees paid vary by Brokerage.

You must achieve a passing mark of 75 and may attempt the exam a second time, without cost. A consult with the Education Officer is encouraged should a re-write be required.
The New Brunswick real estate exam is comprehensive, but it is designed to ensure you are fully prepared for the complexities of the industry. While the passing grade is 75%, the self-paced course provides all the material you need to succeed.
